We never have enough of it for:
the things we must get done,
the things we want to get done,
the things that make life so wonderful-family,friends,fun, or just plain rest!
But, is it true for you as it is for me that you’re most productive when you have a precise deadline? Taxes are due April 15 of every single year of our adult life…so, why is it that I don’t do them in the cold drearies of short January days rather than wait until the last Springtime minute?
And, wow! I am a pro at putzing! You know, mindlessly stopping to pair mismatched socks in the laundry basket when I had just gone to the laundry room to put a load in the dryer? Before I know it, the clothes are dry, and I’ve only mated three pairs of socks. Oh! gosh darn it...now time to fold those clothes.
Whoops-y no time for taxes!
Can you say procrastination??
Whether or not we realize it, we sabotage a productive and satisfying day simply by mindless activity. Add to that the resulting feeling of irritation and self-blame that time-wasting breeds, it is no wonder that the cycle is hard to stop!
But, stop we must! Busy people have got to learn to be more conscious of all that we do…and the busier we are the more this is important. Whether work, family or social projects, it makes no difference…time management is a very under-rated skill that can bring immense satisfaction and feelings of well being.
Besides, those socks never mate anyway- The "sock-monster" got to them way before you did!
